Abstract
In this project we examine the possibilities of developing an HCI (Human Computer Interaction) system, based on commonly available hardware, that allows us to interact with a computer game in a way that is more natural and intuitive than traditional interaction methods, in an attempt at making games more impressive and entertaining.

We use the human perception system as inspiration for developing an automated system. In the analysis part we narrow the project down to focusing on how to give the computer some of the properties of the human sense of vision by using a webcam. The key areas being colour, edges and motion.

Then we create a system that consists of a simultaneous two player, head-to-head game called "Virtual Pong" that can be controlled by moving two coloured discs in front of the webcam. The tracking of the discs is based on colour segmentation.

After the design and implementation of the system we subject it to user tests, and draw conclusions based on these.
